Will you join me in starting our Week with a cup of coffee and a Prayer?

Dear God, thank You for the gift of this Monday! As we start our week, please be with my family and friends and

bless them in a way they have never known before.

So many of us enjoy a nice, warm cup of coffee each morning when we wake up. What is it about that cup full of hot liquid that adds to starting our day off right?

Maybe it’s the scent that reminds us of a fresh start.

Maybe it’s the flavor we’ve connected to bringing us completely out of our slumbering state of mind.

Maybe it’s an emotional bond that we give credit to for starting our day off right.

To think that a simple hot cup of java can do all of that!

Time spent with God and in His Word does that and so much more for our souls!

Have we given much thought lately to the true goodness of God? When did we last think back to the time that He reached down and rescued us? Has it been too long?

Has 2 Corinthians 5:17 touched our hearts recently, reminding us that, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation? The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”?

To be mindful every day of the true God that loves us should energize our souls!

An energized soul produces a witness and a testimony for the God that wants to save humanity from their sins! It wants to share the peace that only the Savior can give! It wants to tell others about true joy! The soul of the child of God wants others to experience Psalm 16:11 for themselves: “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

This doesn’t mean we’re all bouncing off the walls with physical energy. However, it should remind us of what our souls possess when we are children of God. Additionally, it should stir up feelings of awe within us, and one that we want to share with others.

And so, with a new day ahead of us, new opportunities will be all around us!

Are we anticipating what is to come? Are we looking for the chance to share words of hope for a lost soul today? Are we equipped to say a prayer, or to tell a portion of our testimony for someone who is searching for more? New opportunities will be all around us. Let’s keep our eyes open! When we’re paying attention, we’re more likely to see those chances that are inviting us to take advantage of!

God chose to use men and women to carry out His will on this planet. As we do our part in serving the Lord and reaching out to others, we will feel His leading. May He protect us as we endeavor to touch the world around us. May His Spirit consume us and overwhelm us with the peace and joy that only He can give. And may we be thankful, even rejuvenated and thrilled once again, for all that He has done in our lives since we first surrendered to Him.
